| i just realized that i talked about some of the exact same things this time as i did last time.
broken record syndrome.
| It's Chelsea here, and I thought it was about time i checked in and said hello :)
It's my fourth week back since winter break and life at college is just fine... We're talking about the Big City (NYC) in Senior Seminar and it's freaking all of us out about money and living and stuff, but we're figuring out how to make it work nonetheless. There's a HUGE community for the graduates at my college in NYC and the alumns throw parties all the time in order to get together and network and socialize.
A couple of weeks ago were the auditions for our guest artist's (a Brooklyn native) Flamenco pieces, as well as the chair of our department's Suite of Hollywood Musicals. I had a lot of fun at both auditions; I made both pieces and I am very happy :) The Flamenco piece I made is (phoenetically spelled) "Donya Fransisgita" and there are six of us girls doing a lot of stomping and castanette playing--this is obviously (and thankfully) improving my coordination skills, because good lord it's hard to play and dance at the same time.
The Hollywood Musical piece has about five sections and I get to be Ginger in the Fred and Ginger duet, "It only happens with you," with our first-year male dance major/apprentice. This'll be a great experience for me because I've never had much training at all with partnering and I need it for my future musical theatre career :) Plus, I feel extremely honored to have the part and I can't wait to start rehearsals--first one is tonight!!!
So, P.S., Spring Concert 2006 is just around the corner and that's what these dances are for. I'm also going to be in two other modern dance pieces in the concert.
Spring Break, beebee and I are planning on visiting NYC---Another reason why I needed a more stable job than the catering one I barely ever get scheduled for :)
I've got a new weekend job as a pizza delivery girl. It's just down the street from my house and it's fairly easy to make 100-ish bucks a shift with wage, mileage, and tips. If I earn 200 bucks a week for the next five months or so, I should make enough money to move to New York this August without a problem :) Hopefully!!!
| you know... when i'm here at school i never can think about anything to write on these things because i'm already ferociously drained from everything else in my busy life.
i earned SIXTY bucks today for one three-hour nude modeling session. biggest crowd ever--15 people showed up.
SO i got naked to get groceries. because now i have stuff to make meals with again. good meals that is. i still can't believe i got 60 though. that's the most i've ever gotten with this job. I hope to make lots more money now that i'm probably going to be hired as a pizza delivery girl. a friend of mine said her brother would make around 200 bucks just on the weekends with that job. WOOHOO. i need it. i have no money.
tomorrow i'm shooting headshots for a girl in the dance department. she'll be auditioning for summer stock this month and is in need of some glossies. SO since i do that fairly well, i'll be doing that for her tomorrow and making some more money. i enjoy making money like this FAR better than have a monotonous same-thing-every-day kind of job. i'm a fickle job person. i get verrrrry very tired of staying at the same place for too long. this is precisely why i've had nine different jobs within the past 5 years.
okay. so i'll be off doing my research for making a budget for new york living as a dancer. that's actually part of my senior seminar class. thank god for classes like this and teachers like mine who've been there and know exactly what needs to be done to get there myself.
oh, ps. i made the flamenco piece and will be stomping and twirling and castanette-playing for the next 8 weeks. i also made the suite of hollywood musicals piece--i'll be portraying ginger rogers in a dance called "it only happens with you"...
WOO-stinking-HOO i love my life and i love dance.
even though i'm poor. | | |

i like wearing my pajamas all day saturday and doing nothing at all.
can't wait to go camping tomorrow night because the weather is so amazing it's alright to do that in january.
really really really hope i get one of those driver/delivery jobs. i need money. i have $19 to my name. and that blows.
can't wait for auditions next week and no school on monday.
can't believe i already have more than enough homework.
hurray for graduation swiftly approaching, then!
